Password Reset Request

This form will allow you to initiate the password reset process. To complete this process, you will need access to your SHIP.EDU email and your SHIP.EDU login credentials. If you do not have access to either of these, please contact helpdesk@ship.edu for assistance.

If you are attempting to reset the password for your sponsored Gmail account, please follow the directions in FAQ #6.

The reset process consists of the following steps:

  1. Enter your SHIP.EDU user ID, the first portion of your email address, on the password reset form.
  2. Check your SHIP.EDU email for a message with the link necessary for accessing the reset page. The link is only valid for one hour or a single use.
  3. Enter and confirm your new password. Your new password must be at least 12 characters in length and meet standard complexity guidelines. (Must contain at least three of the following: upper case character, lower case character, number, special character.)
  4. You should now be able to log into School of Engineering resources using your new password.

IMPORTANT: If you use any part of your name or user ID as part of your password, or attempt to use a previously used password, the authentication server will reject the password update request!
